THE SENT WORD DAILY DEVOTIONAL
(ABC Global Daily Devotional)
2026 – The Year of the Word
Date: 8th February 2026
Topic: The Living Word
Scripture Reading:
John 1:14 (NKJV) – “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.”
2 Timothy 2:15 (NKJV) – “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
Key Thought:
The Living Word is Christ manifested in human form, expressing God’s presence through believers.
Today’s Message:
It behooves us to welcome everyone of us again to the Year of the Word. The implication of this is not just that we’ll be x-raying the Word, rightly dividing the word of truth (2 Timothy 2:15), but that we’ll also be living by the Word. What this portends is that our utterances, actions, thoughts, and moves will be Word-driven. Like Peter, we will respond, “Nevertheless, at thy word” (Luke 5:5), letting God’s Word dictate our steps and decisions.
The Word of God operates in three dimensions:
- Logos – The Written Word: teaches us about God, His nature, and character.
- Rhema – The Revealed Word: speaks personally and timely to us.
- Zao – The Living Word: the Word made flesh, dwelling among us and within us.
Our focus today is on the Zao, the Living Word. This is Christ present in our lives. When the Living Word is manifested through us, people do not just learn about God, they see Him. This was evident in the church at Antioch; believers expressed Christ so tangibly that they were first called Christians (Acts 11:26).
When Jesus walked the earth, He was the Living Word incarnate. Access to Him required intentional pursuit. People sought Him in crowds, and in some cases, access seemed impossible; like when some men lowered their paralyzed friend through the roof to reach Him (Mark 2:1–12).
Then He died and rose again, He was the corn of wheat that fell to the ground and died, bearing much fruit (John 12:24). After His glorification, He sent us His Spirit because He would no longer walk the earth in bodily form. He gave us His life so that we could be His emissaries here on earth. This is why He is called the firstborn among many brethren (Romans 8:29). If there is a firstborn, there are others; we are called to embody Him, to carry His presence, and to manifest His glory in tangible ways for the world to see
We are called to live as little Jesus, to display the life of Christ so practically it can neither be gainsaid nor confused. This is not theoretical Christian living; it is not merely in the letter of the Word, it is life. The world is to see us and say, “These men and women are Christ-like.” Living as the Zao means our lives are a continuation of His ministry: we heal, bless, proclaim truth, and demonstrate God’s Kingdom by our actions and presence.
While the Logos teaches us; the Rhema guides us; the Zao transforms us into vessels through which God’s presence is visible and tangible. Living by the Word means Christ’s life, love, and power lives in us and flows through us. It is no longer theory, it is full manifestation.
Beloved, in this Year of the Word, we are called to embody the Living Word. To let Christ in us move, speak, and act. Our lives are to reflect God’s glory so much that those around us behold Him in us and glorify Him.
This is our heritage.
Prayer:
Father, let Your Living Word dwell richly in me. May every word I speak, every thought I think, and every action I take reflect Your presence. Teach me to live by Your Word daily, so that Christ is revealed in me, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Declaration:
I live by the Word of God.
Christ, the Living Word, manifests through me.
My life expresses God’s presence and glory.
I am a vessel of the Living Word, in Jesus’ name.
