ABC GLOBAL DAILY DEVOTIONAL

2026 – The Year of the Word

Date: January 8th, 2026

TOPIC: Due Season Is a Location in God

Scripture Reading
Ecclesiastes 3:11 (NKJV)
He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end.

Psalm 31:14–15 (NKJV)
But as for me, I trust in You, O LORD;
I say, “You are my God.”
My times are in Your hand;
Deliver me from the hand of my enemies,
And from those who persecute me.”

Key Thought
A due season is a place in God’s hand, not a date on a clock.

TODAY’S MESSAGE:

Exactly a week ago, we welcomed the new year with great expectations. Many of us crossed from the old year into the new in prayer: lifting petitions, making declarations, and sealing them with heartfelt “Amens.”
While these practices are commendable, it is important to note that a new year does not merely introduce new dates; it heralds a new season. And seasons are domiciled in God, not in the passage of time.

Time itself is a location in God. God holds time and timing within Himself. If you are searching for time and timing, you will not find their source anywhere else but in God. He has not delegated them to calendars, clocks, or systems, He has retained them in Himself. This is why Jesus told His disciples that times and seasons are in the Father’s power (Acts 1:7).

A due season, therefore, is not the random ticking of a clock. It is a location in God, just as certain cities are found within specific countries. The ancients understood this truth. David captured it when he declared that his times were in God’s hands.

To enter a due season requires consistent effort and disciplined seeking of the One in whose hands seasons reside.

Hebrews 11:6 tells us:
“But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”

The scripture above is why discouragement is dangerous. It has the potential to disconnect a person from their divinely appointed season.

Entrance into a season requires diligently seeking God, because time resides in Him. Just as you cannot enter Moscow without entering Russia, you cannot access divine timing without coming into God.

In Hebrews 4:16, we are encouraged to “come boldly before the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”

As we diligently seek Him, we must also lean on His mercy. Mercy is what sustains us within seasons.

Consider a woman in labor: after applying all the necessary effort to push, she still needs mercy. Mercy sustains both the mother and the child so that the process does not end in futility; through stillbirth or loss of life.

In the same way, as we travail to enter the seasons in God, we must not forget to depend on His mercy to sustain us within them.

PRAYER:
Father, it is you that works in us both to will and to do of your good pleasure.

Father, help me to diligently seek you every day, and let your mercy sustain me as I seek you diligently.

Declaration:

My times are in God’s hands, and I enter into my due season
