(ABC Global Daily Devotional)

2026 – The Year of The Word

Date: 6th February 2026
Theme: Established by God

Scripture Reading:
Psalm 90:17 (KJV)
And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish thou it.

Ephesians 6:12 (KJV)
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Key Thought:
No human can be anything of worth without the help of spirits.
It takes immortals to make mortals relevant. Relevance on earth is a product of spiritual help and divine establishment.

Today’s Message:
One of the strongest truths the Holy Spirit has impressed upon our hearts concerning establishment is this: man, by himself, is insufficient. No mortal rises into relevance without the involvement of the spirit realm. Human effort may produce motion, but only spiritual help produces meaning, weight, and permanence.

Scripture is replete with instances of man’s insufficiency: “It is not in man that walketh to direct his steps” (Jeremiah 10:23). Again, “Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man” (Psalm 60:11). These are not mere poetic statements; they are realities rooted in the spirit realm. Without help from the realm of spirits, no human destiny can be realized or sustained.

In the spirit realm, greatness is not a scarce reality. Power, wisdom, dominion, and authority abound there. What is scarce on earth is men who are helped, backed, and established by spirits. That is why relevance among mortals is always traceable to an invisible partnership.

Jabez was proof this mystery. Born into pain and limitation, his destiny demanded more than human effort. He cried to God for help, enlargement, and preservation, and the Scripture records a profound outcome: “And God granted him that which he requested” (1 Chronicles 4:10). His relevance was not accidental, it was sponsored. He was helped and established by the Spirit.

This is why establishment cannot be divorced from spiritual warfare. Scripture says, “We wrestle not against flesh and blood” (Ephesians 6:12), but if we follow the narrative the Spirit of God is weaving through that passage, you will discover that it does not end with wrestling. The emphasis progresses through resistance, endurance, and finally concludes with a divine objective: “And having done all, to stand” (Ephesians 6:13). Standing is not struggle; standing is establishment. The Holy Ghost is revealing that the goal of spiritual warfare is not endless battle, but a position where a man remains sure-footed and immovable after the storm of conflict has passed. When the warfare is rightly engaged, the outcome is stability, permanence, and spiritual footing that cannot be shifted.

David captured this understanding in Psalm 90:17 when he cried, “Establish the work of our hands.” He knew effort alone was insufficient. He also asked for the beauty of the Lord, the visible imprint of divine involvement. When God’s beauty rests upon a man, that man carries evidence of spiritual backing. His labor outlives him. His relevance cannot be erased.

As we journey through 2026 – The Year of the Word, the Spirit of God is reminding us that the Word among us is not merely information, it is a spiritual platform. And upon this platform, the Spirit rests. It is through faithful followership of the Holy Spirit that mortals are helped, preserved, and established.

Beloved, it takes immortals to make mortals relevant. When God helps a man, no power can reduce him. When He establishes a life, no opposition can uproot it. That life becomes a testimony, a proof that the Spirit of God is at work among men.

Prayer:
O Lord, we acknowledge our total dependence on You. We renounce confidence in the arm of flesh. Send us help from the spirit realm. Confront every unseen opposition contending with our relevance. Establish us, establish the works of our hands, and let Your beauty rest upon us, in Jesus’ name.

Declaration:
I am helped by the Spirit of God.
I am established beyond opposition.
My relevance is sponsored by Heaven.
The works of my hands endure by divine backing.
God’s beauty rests upon my life.
