ABC GLOBAL DAILY DEVOTIONAL
2026 – The Year of the Word
Date: January 21st, 2026
Topic: Walking Worthy of the Lord
Scripture Reading:
Colossians 1:10 (NKJV)
“That you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God.”
Genesis 5:24 (NKJV)
“And Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him.”
Key Thought:
The Christian life is not merely a confession of faith; it is a walk, a continuous, intentional journey that reflects oneness with the character, will, and purpose of God.
Today’s Message:
Our anchor scripture reveals God’s desire for every believer: a life that walks worthy of the Lord and fully pleasing him. This worthiness is not about human perfection, but about alignment; living in a way that reflects God’s nature and responds to His grace.
To “walk” in Scripture speaks of one’s daily conduct, lifestyle, and pattern of living. To walk “worthy” means to live in a manner consistent with the calling, nature, and expectations of Christ.
Ephesians 4:1 puts it this way – “Walk worthy of the calling with which you were called.”
Micah 6:8 says -“What does the Lord require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?”
To walk worthy therefore is to live with intentional obedience, seeking to please God in our thoughts, choices, and actions.
The life of Enoch shows it so well in Genesis 5:24 – “And Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him.”
His life demonstrates that walking with God is not about public visibility but consistent alignment with the pleasures of God. His walk was so pleasing that God translated him without seeing death (Hebrews 11:5). Worthy walking flows from daily fellowship, not occasional encounters
Such a life naturally pleases God and becomes fruitful, producing visible expressions of faith through good works. Fruitfulness is not forced; it is the evidence of a life rooted in Christ.
Our key scripture also connects a worthy walk with increasing in the knowledge of God. It means that, as we obey, we grow; and as we grow, we know Him more deeply. Knowledge here is not mere information, but experiential intimacy; knowing God through daily fellowship and submission.
Take out time today to ponder on your walk with God, are you intentionally walking to please the Lord, or merely living by convenience?
Prayer:
Lord, help me to walk in a manner worthy of You. Let my life please You, bear lasting fruit, and continually grow in the true knowledge of who You are. Amen.
Declaration:
I intentionally and consistently walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God, in Jesus’ name.
