Topic: Overcoming Division in the Body of Christ

“I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me.”

Key Thought:
Division is Satan’s weapon, but unity in the Word and obedience secures God’s glory.

Today’s Message:
Satan thrives in division. It has always been his modus operandi, from before the dawn of creation. He hates a united home and a unified church. His rebellion in heaven, where he led one-third of the angels astray, set the pattern for what he seeks among men.

Since the institution of the first church (Adam and Eve) in Eden, the devil has worked tirelessly to divide man from God. His strategy has never been conflict for its own sake, but calculated division. He stirs strife between husband and wife, parents and children, and even among siblings, with the ultimate aim of creating a breach between believers and their Maker. By disrupting these God ordained relationships ordained, he weakens spiritual alignment and renders people vulnerable to his wicked operations. Every weapon in his armory is crafted with one central objective: to alienate humanity from God.

Jesus taught the power of agreement and unity, saying, “If two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven” (Matthew 18:19). That’s one divine privilege the devil is afraid of, and he will do everything to stop it.
The Lord Jesus also prayed for unity in John 17:20–23, emphasizing that oneness among ourselves mirrors the unity of the Father and the Son. And that by it, the world will know His glory. This divine oneness is not merely relational but revelatory. The world beholds the glory of Christ, and is drawn to him, compelling hearts to serve Him. Satan cannot afford to standby while his captives are liberated through the revelation of Jesus made visible in the oneness of the brethren. Consequently, he fiercely resists unity, knowing that where believers walk in true oneness, the knowledge of Christ spreads with undeniable power.

When division occurs, whether within believers or between the believer and God, the enemy strips away glory both individually and corporately, leaving the believer exposed, like Adam and Eve in Eden.

If the enemy cannot attack externally, he will create division from within. He knows that misalignment removes the covering of God’s glory, leaving believers spiritually vulnerable. A body in agreement is like a bundle of broomsticks; impossible to break, but, when separated, is easily shattered.

The good news is that Jesus said “the gates of hell shall not prevail against the church” (Matthew 16:18). In this Year of the Word, we war with the Word, which is the Sword of the Spirit, against every form of division and strife within our homes and the church at large. The Word restores unity, protects relationships, and secures believers in alignment with God’s purposes.

Beloved, as we stand united in the Word, the schemes of the enemy are nullified, and the cords of division are broken.

Prayer:
Father, I reject every plan of division in my life, home, church, and generation. Unite Your people through Your Word and Spirit. Restore harmony, agreement, and obedience in every relationship. Strengthen us to stand in unity, aligned with Your counsel, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Declaration:
I walk in unity with God and His people.
The schemes of the enemy to divide are nullified in my life and generation.
I carry the glory of God individually and corporately.
I stand unshaken, for the gates of hell shall not prevail against me or the church, in Jesus’ name.
