Topic: The Counsel of God and the Glory He Reveals

The counsel of the Lord stands forever, The plans of His heart to all generations.

Isaiah 46:10 NKJV
Declaring the end from the beginning, And from ancient times things that are not yet done, Saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, And I will do all My pleasure.

Key Thought:
The glory and dimensions of God are revealed through His eternal counsel, not merely through encounters.

Today’s Message:
The glory and dimension of God are unveiled through His eternal counsel and thoughts. God does not reveal Himself randomly; He reveals Himself intentionally and strategically through what he has planned, thought, and purposed from eternity.

What God has for a generation does not primarily come through appearance or encounter, but through His counsel. The Bible says He works everything according to the counsel of His will ( Ephesians 1:11). Encounters may introduce us, but counsel establishes us. Until we understand God’s expectations for our generation, we may experience Him without accurately expressing Him.

This dimension of God is accessed when His counsel is understood and translated into attitude and character; that is, embodied. We cannot ride on the strength of encounters alone, it is not tenable. We must revert to His counsel. Paul had a powerful encounter, an encounter so powerful that it blinded him, but he did not run on the strength of that encounter alone. He submitted himself to counsel. Revelation that is not lived out remains incomplete. Once we can discern what God is thinking and expecting in our time, the next responsibility is to inculcate it and live it out daily.

Much of what is called religion today is the result of clinging to dimensions of God that were revealed to previous generations, without alignment to God’s present counsel. This is why
Scripture describes it as “having a form of godliness but denying its power” (2 Timothy 3:5) because power flows where current counsel is obeyed.

God Himself is both the beginning-end of all things. “In the beginning God…” (Genesis 1:1), (John 1:1-3). The first thing God did was God, and the last thing God will do is God. Everything starts and concludes in Him. When a generation aligns with God’s present counsel, it will naturally align with his glory.

In this Year Of The Word, we must seek His present counsel, and align with it because that is where His hand and His heart are. (2Peter 1:12)

Prayer:
Father, open my heart to understand your eternal counsel. Deliver me from living by mere encounters without alignment. Let your thoughts shape my attitude, character, and daily walk. Establish me in what you are doing in my generation. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Declaration:
I am aligned with the counsel of the Lord.
I walk in the thoughts of God for my generation.
The glory of God is revealed through my obedience and character.
