2026 – The Year of the Word

Topic: Hearing Ears and Seeing Eyes

Scripture Reading:
Isaiah 30:20–21 (NKJV)
“Although the Lord gives you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, yet your teachers will not be moved into a corner anymore, but your eyes will see your teachers.
Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, ‘This is the way, walk in it,’ whenever you turn to the right hand or whenever you turn to the left.”

Proverbs 20:12 (NKJV)
“The hearing ear and the seeing eye, the LORD has made them both.”

Key Thought:
The ear hears what the Spirit is saying; the eye sees what the Spirit is revealing.

Today’s Message:
God created the hearing ear and the seeing eye for divine communication, not for decoration. Scripture reveals to us in Proverbs 20:12 that both are crafted by the Lord and are essential instruments through which His will is revealed and communicated.

The will of God flows from hearing His voice and discerning His heart concerning situations and circumstances. When the heart of God is unknown, prayer becomes guesswork. Scripture reminds us that confidence in prayer comes from alignment with His will (1 John 5:14).

The ear is not designed for noise but for direction. “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says” (Revelation 2:7). Likewise, the eyes are not just limited to physical sight; they are meant to see what the Spirit is revealing . Paul earnestly prayed that the eyes of our understanding would be enlightened (Ephesians 1:17–18). In this season, if your ear does not hear God, you will waste time, resources and miss pathways (Isaiah 48:17).

The book of Isaiah reveals a powerful promise: “Your eyes shall see your teachers, and your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, ‘This is the way, walk in it.’” Hearing delivers from danger and preserves alignment (Psalm 32:8; Psalm 25:12).

The apostle John established a vital principle when he said, “(1st John 1:3) That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you…… Revelation precedes declaration.

Peter echoed this same truth when he stood before the high priest and declared,
“For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard” (Acts 4:20).

Jesus Himself affirmed this order:
“My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me” (John 10:27).
Following God is impossible without first hearing God.

In this Year of the Word, maturity is defined by discernment and response.

The question therefore is not whether God is speaking, but whether we are positioned to hear Him and discern what He is revealing per time.

Beloved, Can you hear Him? Can you see what He’s revealing?

Prayer:
Lord, sharpen my spiritual hearing and sight. Open my ears to hear what the Spirit is saying and my eyes to see what You are revealing. Let me not miss Your voice or Your direction, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Declaration:
My ears hear clearly, and my eyes see accurately.
I receive divine direction and escape every form of confusion.
I walk in maturity and alignment in the Year of the Word.
