THE SENT WORD DAILY DEVOTIONAL
(ABC Global Daily Devotional)
2026- The Year Of The Word
Date: 28th February 2026
Topic: The Heart of a True Prophet
Scripture Reading:
Amos 3:7 (KJV) — Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.
Isaiah 43:26 (KJV) — Put me in remembrance: let us plead together: declare thou, that thou mayest be justified.
Key Thought:
The prophet is one who stands between God and the people, praying for the people and speaking God’s mind to them.
Today’s Message:
The prophet is not merely one who predicts events; the prophet is one who carries God’s burden for a generation.
A prophet prays for the people before God and speaks God’s mind to the people. He stands in the gap. Heaven finds expression through him, and earth finds intercession through him. As Scripture reveals in Amos, God reveals His secrets to His servants the prophets because they are entrusted with His heart.
The prophet is first a servant. His life is not centered on himself but on God and the people. True prophetic ministry is not self-exaltation but service. It is not about prominence but obedience.
A prophetic company is a people given to serving the Lord; sound in spiritual knowledge and grounded in understanding. They are not driven by excitement or spectacle but by alignment with God’s purposes. Their strength is not merely in revelation but in consecration.
Many times, a prophet lives without personally experiencing the fullness of what he prophesies. Abraham saw the days of Christ afar off and rejoiced(John 8:56), yet he did not live to see their physical manifestation. The prophet often announces seasons he may never personally enter because his assignment is faithfulness, not ownership of fulfillment.
Because of this responsibility, a true prophet must be deeply given to the study of the Word. To speak for God, one must first know how God thinks. The written Word (The Logos) trains the prophet’s heart, corrects his perception, and aligns his voice with heaven’s intent.
Isaiah 43:26 reveals an important dimension: God invites His servants to reason with Him through His Word: “Put me in remembrance… declare thou.” This shows that prophetic authority is not emotional expression but Word-based alignment. The prophet speaks from understanding.
A prophetic voice that is not rooted in Scripture becomes dangerous. He is a time bomb waiting to explode. But a prophet shaped by the Word becomes a vessel through which God’s thoughts are accurately communicated to His people.
He draws strength not merely from revelation, but from intimacy with God and submission to His Word.
Prayer:
Father, shape my heart to serve You and Your people faithfully. Teach me Your ways through Your Word. Let my voice reflect Your mind and my life reflect Your servant-heart, in Jesus’ name.
Declaration:
I align my heart with God’s Word.
I serve God and His purposes faithfully.
My understanding is rooted in Scripture.
I speak according to the mind of God.
