THE SENT WORD DAILY DEVOTIONAL

(ABC Global Daily Devotional)

2026 – The Year of the Word
Date: 2nd February 2026

Topic: The Power of Prayer and Thanksgiving

Scripture Reading:
Hebrews 13:15
Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.

Psalm 136: O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

2 O give thanks unto the God of gods: for his mercy endureth for ever.

3 O give thanks to the Lord of lords: for his mercy endureth for ever.

4 To him who alone doeth great wonders: for his mercy endureth for ever.

Key Thought:
Prayer aligns us with God’s will; thanksgiving secures what prayer has produced.

Today’s Message:
Prayer is not complete until it gives way to thanksgiving. Prayer positions us before God, but thanksgiving stabilizes what prayer has achieved. When a believer prays without thanksgiving, alignment may occur, but endurance is not guaranteed.

As we conclude the fast, thanksgiving becomes essential. We thank God first for strength, the grace that sustained us through days of waiting, consecration, and sacrifice. Strength is not assumed; it is supplied. Thanksgiving acknowledges that what carried us was not willpower, but divine enablement.

We also give thanks for our prophetic company. God does not build men in isolation. He forms them in company. Scripture teaches that strength multiplies in alignment, and endurance is preserved in unity (Matthew 18:19) (Daniel 2:17-18). We are stronger together, guarded, instructed, and energized by shared purpose. Thanksgiving for our prophetic company is thanksgiving for our protection.

Prayer brought us into alignment; our prophetic company kept us consistent. Thanksgiving now seals both. It honours God for what He has done and secures continuity for what He is yet to do.

Thanksgiving is faith in expression. It declares that God’s work is complete, even when the full manifestation is still unfolding. It is how believers mark transitions, close seasons, and enter the next phase with clarity and confidence.

As we step out of the fast, we do so prayerful, thankful, and strengthened, aware that what God has begun among us will be sustained by gratitude and unity.

Give thanks unto the Lord!!!

Prayer:
Father, we thank You for strength through this fast. We thank You for grace that sustained us and for the prophetic company You have placed us in. Establish what You have done through prayer, and let thanksgiving secure our progress, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Declaration:
I am strengthened by God.
I am grateful for divine supply and prophetic company.
Prayer has aligned me, thanksgiving has secured me.
Together, we are stronger, established, and advancing,
in Jesus’ name.
